New Advanced Graphics Option Adds Even More Value to Your 375 Field Communicator

Introduction
The availability of the Graphics Option in the 375 Field Communicator adds a whole new level of capability for users of the 375. By deploying EDDL technology, the 375 can now present information from field devices in a graphical manner. Bar charts, graphs, gauges, and pictorial images are just a few of the capabilities that are now available with this option.
Typical Uses
Strip Chart Display
Using trends, the user is able to connect the 375 to device in the field and observe a trend of several related values. This graphical tool makes it much easier to view subtle relationships between key device parameters and the trends that they may be taking.
Radar Level Gauge Display
When used with a radar level gauge like the Rosemount Inc. 5400, the user is able to easily display the echo cure provided by this transmitter. This make is easy to visually observe any anomalies in the tank that might not be apparent when displaying this data remotely.
Graphic Display
The graphics option in the 375 allows the user to display pictorial images thus assisting them in understanding the configuration parameter involved in setting up a device.
EDDL – The Key To Interoperability
EDDL has been used for years by both HART® and FOUNDATION™ fieldbus device manufacturers to define the characteristics of their devices. These device description, or DDs, tells DD compliant host systems like the 375 how to display their device. Now that these graphic enhancements have been added to the EDDL language, device suppliers can ensure all DD compliant devices, like the 375, can present their information in a truly interoperable manner.
